Tibetans have become refugees in their own country...in India we have freedom: Dalai Lama

Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama while speaking about his exile and China's taking over Tibet said that Tibetans became refugees in their own country but received warm affection, respect and freedom in India. 

Speaking to the reporters in Siliguri, the Tibetan spiritual leader said, "We Tibetans became refugees...In our own country, there is a lot of control, but here in India we have freedom..."

His holiness the Dalai Lama visited Sikkim and delivered profound teachings that drew a crowd of approximately 30,000 people. The spiritual leader's visit after 13 years stirred both excitement and reverence among the diverse audience.

State dignitaries, government officials, monks, and individuals from all walks of life converged at the stadium in the early hours, some making the journey on foot, while others utilized the shuttle bus service provided by the State Government. The streets leading to Paljor Stadium, the venue where the spiritual leader gave his teachings were transformed into a traffic-free zone for the occasion.
