Uttar Pradesh: Tragic collision on Agra-Lucknow Expressway claims 7 lives

In a tragic incident early Sunday, August 4, a double-decker bus collided with a car on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway near Etawah, resulting in the death of at least seven people. The accident took place around 12:30 a.m., according to local police reports.

The bus, en-route from Raebareli to Delhi, was carrying 60 passengers. The collision resulted in the deaths of four bus passengers and all three occupants of the car. Senior Superintendent of Police Sanjay Kumar Verma confirmed that 25 to 30 passengers were also injured in the accident and are currently receiving treatment at a nearby hospital.

"A double-decker bus going from Raebareli to Delhi collided with a car at around 12:30 a.m.," SSP Verma said. "There were 60 people on the bus, out of which four people died and about 20-25 people were injured and have been admitted to the hospital. Three people in the car also died, bringing the total fatalities to seven," he added, as reported by ANI.

The cause of the collision is under investigation, and authorities are working to provide support to the affected families and ensure the injured receive adequate medical care.
