The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has announced the initiation of a nationwide public awareness campaign aimed at liberating Hindu temples from government control.
Milind Parande, the organization’s general secretary, revealed the details of the campaign while addressing the media on Tuesday.
“VHP has started a nationwide public awareness campaign to free Hindu temples from government control. Its first meeting will be held on January 5 in Vijayawada,” Parande stated.
The VHP has also taken proactive steps by drafting a proposed law to facilitate this initiative.

Parande confirmed that the draft has been submitted to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for consideration.
“We have given a proposed draft of the law to Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu, in which we have given some suggestions as to how to move forward in this direction,” he added.
This campaign by the VHP comes in the backdrop of increasing demands from various Hindu organizations to ensure that temples are managed independently by religious authorities rather than government-appointed bodies.
The move is expected to spark debates on the governance of religious institutions in India.
The VHP’s first meeting in Vijayawada is anticipated to draw religious leaders, scholars, and activists from across the country, as the organization seeks to build momentum for its cause.
