Aryan Khan, the eldest son of famed film star Shah Rukh Khan, was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau in October last year. Khan was charged with not only being in possession of illicit drugs but also being part of a larger international trafficking network. He had to spend 26 days in jail before he was granted bail. After 8 months of investigation, the Narcotics Control Bureau did not press charges against him in its charge-sheet filed recently.
In this episode of Nothing But The Truth, India Today Group Editorial Director (Publishing) Raj Chengappa gives the inside story of why Aryan Khan was freed and how India’s Narcotic Law needs to be amended to prevent such persecution.
