As Droupadi Murmu administered the oath as the 15th President of India inside a packed Central Hall on July 21, there was a hush that descended. And when she was done, the hall reverberated with loud clapping and shouts of Bharat Mata ki Jai. Murmu is the first tribal and the second woman to be the president of India.
