The Sikkim Democratic Front on June 21st, 2020 accused the Prem Singh Tamang led government in the state has not fulfilled its promises made prior to the election.

“The 13 months old Sikkim Krantikari Morcha government has been totally failed to work on any of its promise made to the people before the election,” the SDF president Pawan Chamling said.

Meanwhile, a delegation of the Sikkim Democratic Front party led by Pawan Chamling submitted a memorandum to the Governor Ganga Prasad on various prevailing issues of the State here at RaJ Bhawan on Saturday. The former Chief Minister was joined by senior SDF leaders, KT Gyaltsen, DB Thapa, MK Subba, Acharya Tshering Lama, R Ongmu and Manita Pradhan during the visit to the Governor.

Speaking to media persons after the meeting here this evening, SDF president expressed that being a responsible opposition party of Sikkim SDF party has met the Governor today and submitted a memorandum on the present situation of Sikkim and its people. He stated that the Governor gave a patient hearing on issues placed by the SDF party and expressed his concern to take it up seriously.

Chamling He stated that the delegation also apprised the Governor on increased in violence, vandalism and attacks in the present government in the State but the police has not been taken any action or enquiry on any complaint lodged by SDF party, victims and people in different police stations in the State. Mr Chamling alleged that there was no any action and enquiry even on the instances of threatening and attacks on him and other SDF party supporter’s despite of complaints lodged in different police stations.

He alleged that there was no action and enquiry by the police in attempt to murder of SDF party spokesperson, JB Darnal in broad daylight. While criticizing the recent press statement of SKM spokesperson, Jacob Khaling on the matter, he stated that if the ruling SKM party knows that SDF was behind the attack of Mr Darnal then it should arrest culprits immediately as they have the government and police but by not arresting any culprit so far shows that SKM was behind the attack and its spokesperson well known about it.

On the same, SDF president alleged that law and order has been deteriorating and democracy has been murdered in Sikkim and there is no surety and protection of rights of the people and people have been suppressed.
