Sikkim: 54 new cases reported, 68year old succumbed to death

Sikkim registers 54 new positive cases out of which 52 is from East Sikkim and 2 from South Sikkim.

Meanwhile, the state recorded its 18th Covid after a 68-year-old man from Melli passed away yesterday at STNM Hospital.

The patient was a diabetic and was first taken to Namchi hospital where he tested positive for COVID-19. He was referred to STNM Hospital, where he collapsed after a sudden fluctuation in his blood sugar level.

Meanwhile, new cases have been detected at Sadar Thana and Axis Bank in Gangtok. Both the places have been contained for sanitization.

The Pediatric ward at Gyalshing hospital has also been contained after detection of positive case.
