GANGTOK: Sikkim Anjuman E-Islamia, Rangpo has appealed to the entire Muslim Community to offer Namaz of EID-UL-FITR at home during the Eid celebration, as the state is fighting with the second wave of COVID-19 pandemic.

Md. Khalid President of Anjuman-E-Islamia, Rangpo urged the Muslims of the state to avoid going to Masjid amid the COVID-19 pandemic and offer prayers at home itself.

"I Request all the citizens of the State to be responsible and strictly follow the guidelines of COVID-19 to reduce the number of cases in your locality and State. May Almighty "Allah" keep all of us under his protection and cure all those who are sick due to the virus," he said.

On the other hand, the Assam State Jamiat Ulama too appealed to the Muslim people of the state to offer Namaz at home for the same reason.

Zunaid Khalid, an advocate of the Supreme Court of India and the General Secretary of the Kamrup district Jamiat Ulama, urged the citizens of Assam to follow the state government's instructions in order to stop the spread of the COVID-19  pandemic to perform Namaz at home.
