GANGTOK: In a bizarre turn of events, locals in Sikkim refused to accept relief ration being distributed on behalf of the State BJP party on Wednesday creating an embarrassing situation for the distributors.
The incident took place in Syari area near Gangtok where the office bearers of state BJP unit were distributing relief items to the residents.
However, the residents of the area refused the aid saying that it was humiliating to see such meager relief provided by a party which is ruling at the Centre as well as in the State in alliance with the Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM).
