GANGTOK: NHPC CMD A.K. Singh on Friday visited Sikkim along with NHPC director (technical) Y.K. Chaubey.
According to the press release by NHPC, it was Singh’s first visit to Sikkim after taking charge as the NHPC CMD.
Singh met Rural Development minister Sonam Lama and discussed various pending issues related with 520 Mw Teesta-IV hydel power project in Sikkim, the release mentions.

The NHPC CMD also apprised the minister on the status of other NHPC projects in Sikkim including 500 Mw Teesta-VI Project. The minister assured his full support and cooperation to NHPC, the release mentions.
Earlier upon their arrival, the NHPC CMD and the director (technical) were given a warm welcome by D. Chattopadhyay, executive director, Siliguri Region, NHPC, Sahadev Khatua, general manager, Teesta-V power station, Sandeep Kumar, CEO of Teesta-VI HE Project and other senior officers of NHPC at Gangtok.
