The Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF) has suspended its member Rup Narayan Rai who has been arrested by South Sikkim Police in a POCSO Act case.

“Therefore, in view of the directions made by the Hon’ble Party President under Article 11 of the Constitution of the Sikkim Democratic Front Party, the membership of Shri Rup Narayan Rai is hereby suspended from the SDF Party till the final decision is taken in the said case by the concerned authority or competent Court of Law, following the due process of law. If found guilty, we expect the concerned authority to mete out the highest punishment appropriate for the alleged crime,” said the SDF.
