GANGTOK: Sikkim has emerged as the state with the second lowest recovery rate from the COVID-19 virus as of yesterday in the country with 68.5 %, according to the data released by the Union Health Ministry.
Meanwhile, Uttarakhand has the lowest recovery rate from the infection with 67.8 %.

Among the other states, Karnataka stands with a 70.6% recovery rate, followed by Himachal (72), Goa (73,2), Rajasthan (73,4), Kerala (78.3), Gujarat (81.8), Assam (85.6), Uttar Pradesh (86), Tamil Nadu (86.6), West Bengal (86.7), Maharashtra (88.3), Telangana(88.4), Arunachal (89.4) and Delhi with the highest recovery rate with 92.8 % as of yesterday.
Sikkim in the past 24 hours reported six deaths related to COVID-19, while 232 new cases have been reported and a total of 7446 people infected with the virus have been recovered.
The state currently has 3002 active COVID cases and with the fresh cases, state's total number of positive cases has climbed up to 10855.
