Guwahati, December 26, 2018:

Indian army troops hosted and took care of three thousand tourists who were stranded due to heavy snowfall at JN Marg while returning from Tsomgo Lake.

The tourists had been stranded since Friday when the Indian army troops stationed at the 17th Mile army camp located on the way between Gangtok and Tsongo Lake came to their rescue.

The 52km-long JN Marg which connects Gangtok with the Nathu-la border and is often closed during winters due to unsafe road conditions.
