Fans turn barbaric and violent after I-Day Football match in South Sikkim

A huge brawl between the Tibetan Army Para Special Force and IRBn Jawans broke out on Saturday morning during a Independence Day football event in Ravangla, South Sikkim.

Cops involved in controlling the situation, were also beaten up by the rowdy audience.

Disagreements broke out when the Tibetan troops from the audience entered in the middle of the match.

Indian Reserve Batallion and Sikkim Police, who were sent for the competition attempted to calm the angry crowd, to control the situation.

Reports claimed that the Tibetan Army fans violently treated the committee, the Sikkim Police, and the IRBN Corps personnel who were on duty. The IRBN Jawans appeared powerless because of the large crowd. In the past, the Tibetan army has wreaked such damage in Rabongla.

It needs mention here that the Police are investigating the matter. People involved in the brawl have received minor injuries. It was a case of crowd manhandling, the police personnel said while speaking to the reporters.
