Sikkim government employee among two found dead in Soreng stream, probe underway

Authorities in Soreng district recovered the bodies of two men, including a junior engineer with the Sikkim education department, from a stream near the Rothok Khola bridge on Thursday morning.

The discovery was made following a tip-off from local residents in the Khadkabazar area, prompting police to initiate a search operation. The deceased have been identified as Roshan Chhetri, a government employee, and Vikas Dhamala.

After completing post-mortem examinations, the bodies were handed over to the families.

While foul play has not been ruled out, the exact circumstances surrounding their deaths remain unclear. Police have launched a detailed investigation to determine what led to the incident.
