Sikkim observes 'A Day for Mother Earth' with temporary vehicular halt

In a move towards environmental conservation, Sikkim came to a standstill today as part of 'A Day for Mother Earth.' From 11:00 am to 11:07 am, all vehicular movement across the state was halted to highlight the urgent need for environmental awareness and combatting global warming and climate change.

The initiative, spearheaded by local authorities aimed to highlight the impact of human activity on the environment. Traffic police were actively involved in ensuring strict compliance with the pause, making exemptions only for emergency and essential services.
