Sikkimese actor Shyama Shree Sherpa represents “Tara: The Lost Star” at Cannes, says “historic moment”

Actor and producer Shyama Shree Sherpa graced the 2024 Cannes International Film Festival, representing her film “Tara, The Lost Star”.

At the event, Sherpa said that the screening of a Sikkimese Nepali film at Cannes is historic. She said, “I am glad to announce that it’s a historic moment for all the Sikkimese and Nepalis as for the first time a Sikkimese-Nepali film named Tara, The Lost Star will screen on May 20 at the biggest film festival in the world, “Cannes International Film Festival” “Marché Du Film, Cannes de Festival.”

“Tara, The Lost Star” is directed by Samten Bhutia and produced by Sabitri Chettri. It is a presentation of SaDa Productions in associate with Passang Mintok Films.

Showcasing the beautiful landscape of Sikkim’s Gnathang Valley and Memencho Lake, the movies features Shyama Shree Sherpa and Kiran Dahal in the lead with Deoraj Sherpa and Loonibha Tuladhar as the primary cast. 

The actor also appreciated the hard work of the team and congratulated them for the big representation of the movie.
