GANGTOK: Two Climbers from Sikkim have been selected to represent India in the upcoming Asian Beach Games (Speed only) to be held in China in April of 2021.
Pema Thendup Bhutia (25) from Barapathing village and Ganesh Bhujel (26) from Daramdin in West Sikkim have been selected based on their performances at the last National Championship in January 2020.
According to reports, as many as 10 athletes have been shortlisted from India.

Bhutia and Bhujel have already participated in international events in France, Switzerland, and Indonesia.
The Asian Beach Games, also known as ABG, is a multi-sport event held every four years among athletes from all over Asia.
The Asian Beach Games have been organized by the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA).

The Games are described as the second-largest Asian multi-sport event, after the Asian Games.
