Six-time world boxing champion, Mary Kom has been named in the 'most admired woman’ list in India.
The list was compiled after a survey conducted by YouGov. Over 42,000 people from across 41 countries gave their votes in two separate categories – Men and Women.
The global list in women's category is led by Michelle Obama, wife of former US President Barack Obama. The other women in the top 10 list are - Oprah Winfrey, Angelina Jolie, Queen Elizabeth II, Emma Watson, Malala Yousafzai, Peng Liyuan, Hilary Clinton, Tu Youyou and Taylor Swift.
Mary Kom leads the list in India with an admiration score of 10.36%. The list also had popular names such as - Kiran Bedi with 9.46%, Lata Mangeshkar 9.23%, Lt. Sushma Swaraj - 7.13%, Deepika Padukone - 6.35%, Malala Yousafzai - 5.75%, Michelle Obama - 5.53% and Priyanka Chopra with 5.11%.
Moreover, Mary Kom is the only sportswoman in the Top 25 'Most Admired Woman’, according to YouGov’s survey.

Earlier, Mary was elected as the Best Female Athlete in Asia at the first-ever 'Awards for Asia' ceremony organized by the Asian Sportswriters Union (AIPS Asia).
