Army-Organized Football Tourney in Karbi Anglong Comes to a Close

Kheroni, November 25, 2019:

The Red Horns Division of the Indian Army conducted a football tourney at Kheroni in West Karbi Anglong district of Assam from 21-25 November, 2019.

The tournament, which was being organized as a part of the Operation Sadbhavana, came to a dramatic close with a nail biting final and the team from Dikhreng emerged victors after managing to find the back of the net 4 times.

The tourney was aimed to nurture budding footballers from the hinterland and promote rural sporting talents in the area of Karbi Anglong.

It may be mentioned that the focus of Operation Sadbhavana is to improve the overall core social indices of education, women and youth Empowerment, and health care with simultaneous thrust on capacity building through implementation of community/infrastructure development projects.
