Ashis Bhowmik from Tripura has been selected as the Chief pitch curator of India. Recently, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced its new committee of pitch curators.
The ten-member pitch curator committee will look after all the pitches in India. Ashis Bhowmik has selected as the chief of this committee.

Ashis Bhowmik is from Tripura and worked as the Pitch curator of Tripura Cricket Association. Earlier, he was the BCCI's eastern zone pitch curator.
Recently, India played against South Africa at Pune. The Pune pitch also prepared by Ashis Bhowmik.

This is first time when any person from the state selected as the Chief of any kind of committee of BCCI. It may be mentioned that Ashis Bhowmik, who is a cricketer himself, also played first class cricket for his state Tripura.
