Bhumika and Prachi lead Maria Public School to next round of 11SPORTS Inter School TT Championship

Indore, November 29, 2018:

Maria Public School’s skipper Bhumika Kaushik and her teammate Prachi Mazumder kept Assam’s hopes alive as they defeated A.J De Almeida High School of Goa with a comprehensive score line of 3-0 in the sub-junior girls’ team category of the 4th 11SPORTS Inter School TT Championship at the Abhay Prashal Sports Club.

The skipper, Bhumika led her Maria Public School of Guwahati's charge as she put up a stellar display to breeze past Sundidhl S of A.J. De Almeida High School with easy 11-5, 11-4, 11-1 wins. Her teammate Prachi continued to shift the momentum in their team’s favour as she also romped past Thrusha J H with 11-7, 11-7, 11-4 wins to gain a 2-0 lead.

With just the doubles clash left to seal the tie in Maria Public School’s favour, Bhumika and Prachi didn’t leave it for later as they recorded another 3-0 (11-2, 11-4, 11-6) victory over the Goan duo of Thrusha and Sundidhl to cement their berth in the round of 16’s.

Elsewhere in the sub-junior boys’ team category, Don Bosco School of Assam had to give walkovers to N. St. Mathew’s Public School of Andhra Pradesh and Delhi Public School (DPS) of Gujarat as they couldn’t make the trip to Indore after qualifying from the state.
