'Dhing Express' Hima Das announced a return to form on Wednesday by claiming Gold in the Poznan Athletics Grand Prix held in Poznan, Poland.
Hima's effort won her the praise of Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, who congratulated her for bringing laurels to the State of Assam and, in fact, the entire nation, with her 'glorific run.
The Chief Minister released a statement in which he said that the premier athlete had added another success to her list of accomplishments as the athlete had been consistently striving hard to make her presence felt at the international athletics events.
'Dhing Express' Hima, who has a personal best of 23.10s, clocked 23.65s while teammate V.K. Vismaya pipped Poland’s Iga Baumgart-Witan to finish third in a personal best 23.75s.
This Gold will be extra sweet for the 'Dhing Express', as the under-20 World champion quartermiler has been struggling with a back injury, which has impacted her performance in recent times.
