NEW DELHI: Indian Women’s Football team to play four international friendly matches next month against UAE, Tunisia, Chinese Taipei, and Bahrain.
After setting up camp in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand for a month, the Indian Women’s Football team is all set to travel abroad for exposure as a part of the preparation for the upcoming AFC Women’s Asia Cup.
As pe reports India will travel to UAE to face the hosts for two matches on October 2 before facing Tunisia two days later in Dubai.
The team will then travel to Panama to face Bahrain on October 10th and then Chinese Taipei on October 13.
Dennerby the coach of the Indian women’s team has coached Sweden to a third-place finish in Worldcup 2011 and a quarter-final spot at London 2012 Olympics.
According to the coach, the Indian women’s team needs more endurance training and at least needs 10 games before the tournament starts.
The Indian team needs to play some games with the teams weaker team to work on their attacks and also needs to play some games with teams who are a little stronger than them to speed up their pace, decision making, passing, and receiving, he added.
India will be hosting AFC Women’s Asia Cup for the second time after the 1979 edition. The tournament will be played in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, and Pune from January 20 to February 6, 2022.
