Mizoram is set to host the International Paragliding Accuracy Championship 2020 in February.
The Paragliding championship will be a five-day event beginning on February 12 at Serchhip in central Mizoram.

The Sports department of the Mizoram government is organizing the event along with the Mizoram Aero-Sports Association.
According to reports, more than 130 participants will take part in the Paragliding Championship 2020 and to make the event a successful one, the organizing committee, under the chairmanship of Mizoram’s Sports and Tourism Minister Robert Romawia Royte, has prepared a detailed roadmap.

The Mizoram government had earlier held the Pre-World Cup Paragliding Championship in 2018. It may be mentioned here that Paragliding has become a new adventure sports in the hilly state. Mizoram has been practicing the sport since 2012 at a place called Chuanhnuai between Serchhip town and Keitum Village along the National Highway (NH) 54.
The adventure sport has been able to attract paragliders from across the world to Mizoram.
