Kiren Rijiju, Union Minister of State for Youth Affairs & Sports, on Friday spent time with the athletes and coaches to get ‘first hand’ experience of the facilities at the venue.
Rijiju joined the athletes training at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium for morning jog and breakfast.
In the informal interaction with the players and coaches Kiren Rijiju asked for suggestions to improve the overall sporting culture of the country.
The athletes and coaches also put forward their ideas, suggestions for improving the existing sports infrastructure in the country.
After trying his hand at javelin throwing, Rijiju joined the athletes at JLN hostel for breakfast. He also interacted with the gymnasts.
Veteran archer Limba Ram and Olympian hockey player MP Ganesh also joined the minister during the breakfast and shared their experiences with him.
