Manipur's superstar athlete Mary Kom has made the country proud once again by clinching yet another Gold medal, this time at the President Cup Boxing tournament held in the Southeast Asian country Indonesia on Sunday.
The Olympic bronze medallist pugilist decimated Australian April Franks 5-0. The 36-year-old Indian had also won a gold medal at the India Open boxing tournament in May, but skipped the Asian Championships as part of a larger plan to enhance her chances of Olympic qualification.
'Magnificent' Mary was quick to thank who made it possible after clinching her latest Gold medal. Sharing a video of herself singing the Indian national anthem during the medal distribution ceremony, MC Mary Kom wrote: "Gold for me and for my country again at President Cup Indonesia. Winning means you’re willing to go longer, work harder and give more effort than anyone else. I sincerely thanks to all my Coaches and support staffs of Boxing Federation of India Kiren Rijiju for all the guidance and cooperation.
