After Meghalaya, it seems like it will be Mizoram's turn to host the National Games. Recently, Mizoram Chief Minister Zoramthanga submitted a proposal to the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) to host the XXXXI National Games in 2024 in the State.
Mizoram state sports minister Robert Romawia Royte also said on Sunday that the State is likely to host the National Games in 2024. Zoramthanga was accompanied by Royte and state chief secretary Lalnunmawia Chuaungo when he submitted the proposal.
It may be mentioned here that Mizoram is one of the most football loving states in the country and the famous Indian football star Jeje Lalpekhlua also belongs to the Northeastern state, which has emerged as the footballing powerhouses in the country.
The state has also produced many other footballers who have carved out a niche in the national level.
