The high-octane match between the ‘Bhoot Jolokia Fire’ boys of NEUFC and the ‘Gaurs’ from Goa ended in a 2-2 draw in the Indian Super League. The match, that was witnessed live by the Meghalaya CM Conrad Sangma, was held at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium on in Guwahati, Assam, on Friday.
FC Goa took the first leap with Hugo Boumous' 31st minute goal with FC Goa 1-0 at half time. Equalising the score, Asamoah Gyan brough the ‘Highlanders’ back in the game at the 54th minute.

Local lad Redeem Tlang of NEUFC found the back of the net in the 74th minute. The team headed for a win with a perfect header by super sub Manvir Singh.
Both NEUFC and FC Goa remained unbeaten in the league, with the teams sitting in third and fourth position respectively.

The match also saw a large number of spectators with Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma, who joined the festivities to watch the match and support the home team.

Conrad Sangma is well known for his sporting nature among the people of the Northeast. His presence at the ISL match to support home team NEUFC shows his interest in football and evidently instilled confidence in the home team's players.
