OIL announces Rs 20 lakh for Hima

Guwahati (Assam), 4 Aug 2018

Oil India Ltd (OIL) has announced Rs 20 lakh for India’s latest sensation and gold girl from Assam Hima Das.

Speaking to reporters here on Saturday, OIL chairman-cum-managing director Utpal Bora said the amount would be formally handed over to Das once she returns to Assam. She is currently abroad.

Hima created a sensation by becoming the first Indian athlete ever to win a gold medal at a world track event. She won gold medal in 400 metres heat at World Under-20 Athletics Championships held at Tampere in Finland in July this year.
