New Delhi, November 7, 2019:

Manipuri star boxer MC Mary Kom on Thursday expressed gratitude to the World Olympian Association (WOA) for allowing her the use of post-nominal letters 'OLY'.

The six-time world champion shared a picture of the certificate of recognition on social media handle and captioned, “Thank you so much for the recognition”.

'OLY' signifies sportspersons' ongoing role in society as an Olympian, living and promoting the Olympic values.

The WOA announced the OLY post-nominal letters initiative at the eighth International Olympic Committee (IOC) International Athletes' Forum that was held in November 2017. In this, the Olympians are allowed to use the OLY lettering on any official documentation after their name like when one gets a degree.

Recently, Mary Kom was seen knocking out her audience by singing the classic song ‘What’s up’ by American rock band 4 Non-Blondes and retro- Bollywood number ‘Azeeb Dastan Hai Yeh’. She performed at a gathering ahead of Young Leaders Connect in New Delhi.
