GUWAHATI: The batsmen complimented a four-for-five runs haul by Sanjit Basfore to help Prag News annex the 8th TG Baruah Media T20 Cricket Tournament title handing a nine-wicket defeat to Asomiya Pratidin in the final at Judges Field here today.
Electing to bat first, Asomiya Pratidin were bundled out for 104 in 18.2 overs, and the Prag News batsman chased the modest total in 12.3 overs scoring 107 for one.

Apart from man of the match Basfore, Raju Dhar also destablised the Pratiding batting line-up taking three scalps for 16 runs. Jagjit Singh (32) and Manjit Babi Sarma (27) were the only notable scorers for Pratidin.
Mriganka Jyoti Sarma and Amit Das of Prag remained unbeaten on 46 and 45 respectively.
Basfore was also adjudged the best bowler of the tournament and Mriganka Sarma the best batsman. Amit Das was named the man of the tournament.
Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal and his media adviser Hrishikesh Goswami attended the presentation ceremony along with others.
