Cricketing sensation of Assam, Riyan Parag, has donated a sum of Rupees 1 lakh to the flood-affected victims of the floods in Assam.
Parag's contribution to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund has been lauded by none other than the Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal himself.
A tweet sent out from the Chief Minister's official Twitter handle read: "Thank you " data-mentioned-user-id="3150758622">@ParagRiyan for your contribution of ₹ 1 Lakh to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund. It is heartening to see the young generation coming forward in large numbers to help those affected during data-query-source="hashtag_click">#AssamFloods."
Riyan Parag caught the nation's attention when he stormed onto the IPL scene as a teenager, representing the 'Rajasthan Royals' team.
Earlier, the renowned actor Jatin Bora had also made a donation of Rs. 1 lakh to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund.
Meanwhile, Bollywood's ‘action superstar’ Akshay Kumar has announced that he will be making a donation of a whopping sum of Rupees one crore (!) towards the ‘rescue efforts’ for the animals suffering due to the floods in Kaziranga National Park in Assam, which has been almost completely submerged.
