West Indies’ Rahkeem Cornwall Becomes 1st Spinner from West Indies to Take 10 Wickets in IndiaCornwall

Guwahati, November 28, 2019:

West Indies off-spinner Rahkeem Cornwall on Thursday became the first spinner in over 2 years to record 10-wicket in a Test match in India, after Indian premier spinners R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja.

Rahkeem Cornwall recorded 10 wickets by taking 7 wickets in the 1st innings during the ongoing Only Test vs West Indies in Lucknow, and 3 more on the 2nd day.

Cornwall became the 1st spinner after Steve O'Keefe of Australia who picked 10 wickets in a Test match in February 2017, in India. Indian premier spinners R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja last picked up 10-wickets in a Test during the 4-match series vs England in December 2016.

The West Indies off-spinner is also the 1st West Indian spinner to pick up 10 wickets in a Test match in the subcontinent.

Prior to Cornwall, Afghanistan left-arm spinner Amir Hamza made history by picking a 5-wicket on his Test debut.
