Young Mizo Hockey Star welcomed home with Honor

Guwahati, October 26, 2018:

18 year old Mizo hockey player Lalremsiami is seen to the fore of a great player in her hopeful hockey career.

After the victory at the Asian Games and the Youth Olympics Lalremsiami, the youngest player of Indian women’s hockey team moved to her hometown in Mizoram.

‘Remsiami’ is from a small Mizo town of the state capital Aizawl where she was welcomed by the beating of drums and her name was chanted by the gathered public. She arrived in open palanquin made of bamboo sticks–the highest honor in Mizo tradition.

With a happy moment, the tiny town’s Diakkawn Square was overcrowded as through which Lalremsiami passed celebrating her victory. She was given the state’s highest honor.
