KKR vs LSG IPL match shifted to Guwahati? BCCI says 'So far, nothing decided'

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) remains undecided on rescheduling the April 6 IPL match between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at Eden Gardens, following security concerns raised by Kolkata Police due to Ram Navami celebrations.

The Kolkata Police has requested the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) to reschedule the IPL 2025 match between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at Eden Gardens on April 6, citing security concerns due to Ram Navami celebrations.

CAB President Snehasish Ganguly confirmed the development, stating, "...For the match on 6th April, on Ram Navami, Kolkata Police has clearly said that they will not be able to provide security for the match. They have requested us to reschedule the match. We have requested BCCI but they have not replied whether the match will be rescheduled or shifted to a new location..."

Meanwhile, BCCI Vice President and Congress MP Rajeev Shukla assured that discussions are ongoing. "We are in conversation with the Kolkata Police. So far, nothing has been decided. Kolkata Police is cooperating, we will find a way out," he stated.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is yet to announce its decision regarding the match schedule, leaving fans eagerly awaiting further updates.

Earlier, the BCCI announced that the match ti be shifted from Kolkata to Guwahati after the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) formally requested a venue change

This is the second consecutive year IPL scheduling in Kolkata has been affected by religious celebrations. In 2024, KKR's home game against Rajasthan Royals was rescheduled from April 17 to April 16 due to similar security concerns, which also led to changes in two other fixtures.

Guwahati, already set to host two Rajasthan Royals matches on March 26 and 30, will now add the relocated KKR-LSG clash to its calendar, if BCCI decides to go with the new venue.
