Former Governor of Manipur and Nagaland was found dead at his residence in Shimla on Wednesday

The body of the ex-CBI director and Former Governor of Manipur and Nagaland was found hanging at his residence, Shimla

Superintendent of Police (SP) Mohit Chawla said but refused to disclose any further details.

A team of police personnel, health officials from Shimla's Indira Gandhi Medical College

and Hospital rushed to Ashwani Kumar's home as soon as they received the news.

Former Governor and Ex-CBI Director, Ashwini Kumar was in-charge during the Arushi Talwar murder case. He was also a member of the Rajya Sabha, representing the state of Punjab.

The cause of his death is yet to be confirmed.
