Kohima: Nagaland CM Neiphiu Rio has called for a meeting of the Select Committee of Nagaland Assembly to examine the- Nagaland-Assam border Issue on 14th September next month.
The meeting will be held at 10.00 A.M. in the Committee Room of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly Secretariat, Kohima.
The Assam –Nagaland border issue is more than six decades old. Assam shares a boundary of 434 km with Nagaland.

Right after the Assam-Mizoram border violence on July 26, both the states signed a MoU to withdraw state’s forces from borer locations to de-escalation of tension.
Both the states agreed upon using UAVs and satellite imagery to keep a watch on incursions across the disputed boundary between the states and maintain the status quo.
