AGARTALA: Tripura chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb is yet again at his heights of antics.
From Prime Minister Narendra Modi inventing vaccine to prevent COVID-19 to the BJP planning to form governments in Nepal and Sri Lanka, Deb has been leaving people gapping with newer information over the past couple of days.
Addressing a gathering at the Kamini Kumar Singha Memorial School here yesterday, Deb said Modi has invented the vaccine through indigenous method in India. The Tripura Civil Service Officers’ Association, a platform of the state’s civil service officers, had hosted the programme.

Stating that coronavirus has taught people many important things such as maintaining social distancing, he said: “The COVID-19 pandemic has taught us self-reliance. The prime minister has invented the vaccine through indigenous method, which is why people in India are not afraid of the virus anymore.”
“India has provided the COVID-19 vaccine free of cost to 25 countries. The Modi government has taken all initiative for vaccination in Bangladesh,” he added.
A day earlier, Deb made another statement that Union home minister Amit Shah has a plan to form BJP governments in Nepal and Sri Lanka.
Addressing a party meeting at Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhavan here on Saturday, the chief minister said it was only under the leadership of Shah that the BJP became the world’s largest party.

“The Communist party claims that their party was the largest in the world, but Amit Shah made BJP the largest party in the world,” said Deb.
To substantiate his statement, Deb narrated an instance that took place with him ahead of last state assembly elections: “During a meeting at the state guest house when the then North-East zonal secretary of BJP Ajay Jamwal said that BJP had formed governments in several Indian states, Shah replied that the party would then have to form governments Sri Lanka and Nepal.”
As soon as the statement went viral on social media, the chief minister’s office removed the speech from its social media accounts.
Deb had earlier stated that India had internet services even during the time of Mahabharata. He had referred to Sanjaya narrating the details of battle of Kurukshetra to blind king Dhritarashtra without being physically present at the battlefield.
