AGARTALA: Tripura chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb has become the latest high-profile personality from the Northeast Indian states to test positive for the novel coronavirus.
"I have been tested positive for Covid-19. I have isolated myself at home as per the advice of doctors. I request everyone to please follow all the covid appropriate behaviour and stay safe," Dev wrote in a tweet.
Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh announced on social media in November that he had tested COVID-19 positive. He later recovered from the infection.
Former Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi also tested positive for COVID-19 and later passed away from disease-related complications.
