Tripura Royal scion Pradyot Manikya, continuing his fight against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act on Tuesday at protest in South Tripura, opined that every person belonging to the Hindu faith is not necessarily Indian.

Talking to Inside Northeast, Pradyot Manikya said, "We are consistent in our demand. We are again questioning -- cross border infiltration is not happening in Arunachal and Manipur, so why is exemption only being granted to a few states? We are not against granting refuge to refugees, however every state must share the burden. If we collapse, every state collapses", Manikya added.

The royal Manikya, who is a former President of the Congress party, also said that the Government must listen to the pleas of the indigenous Tiprasas and exempt the state from the purview of CAA.
