Days after the Election Commission issued notification for upcoming assembly election to Tripura, scheduled for February 18, the state is witnessing hectic political activities. The nomination process is underway in the state which will continue till January 31. The date for scrutiny of nominations is scheduled on February 1, while the last date for withdrawal of candidatures is February 3. Counting of votes is scheduled on March 3. BJP parliamentary board is likely to meet today and finalise the list of candidates for the state elections.
As many as 25,69,216 voters will be involved in adult franchise among which 13,03,420 are male voters, 12,65,785 are female voter and 11 numbers of transgender have been registered. The number of polling stations are also increased from 3041 to 3214 for this time and 799 voters are kept per polling station.
