The state of Tripura is preparing to unleash a slew of protests ahead of the tabulation of the contentious Citizenship Bill. The Indigenous People's Front of Tripura (IPFT), which is part of the ruling alliance with the BJP, has called for a bandh on Monday.
While speaking to Inside Northeast, IPFT youth leader Sukla Charan Noatia stated that all the NGOs and civil societies are all opposed to the Bill, and massive protests are being planned

Sukla said, "People are preparing for the massive protests against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill which will be held tomorrow..a bandh has been called and people will join the protests against the Bill tomorrow".
The youth leader further affirmed that even if the Bill is passed, the indigenous people of Tripura will never ever stop fighting for our rights. "We will keep demanding our rights", Sukla added.
It may be mentioned that the IPFT has called for a 12-hours strike protesting the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill on December 9, in the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) area. The strike was declared by IPFT leaders in a press meet here today.

IPFT leader Mangal Debbarma has stated that the strike will be carried out as a mark of protest against the central government’s resolve to pass the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, added that apart from the BJP, all the political parties of the Northeast India region are in opposition to the Bill.
