Guwahati, November 11, 2018:

A delegation Comminist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) on Saturday met Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb and asked to intervene in order to stop the alleged terror unleashed by BJP and IPFT activists on the Left party workers in the State.

According the CPI-M leadership over the past eight months atleast 7,000 workers of the Left parties have been forced to flee their homes are there is a large-scale political violence going on in the state. The violence allegedly started after the BJP-Indigenous People’s Front of Tripura government came to power.

Senior party leader B Choudury said that over 300 party and frontal organisation offices were demolished saying they were illegally constructed on government land.

“Opposition MLAs, ex-Ministers are not provided police security while visiting interior locations for political activities. When the Left Front was in power the right to perform political activities of the opposition parties were not hindered any way,” he said.

Choudhury said that since Chief Minister holds the Home portfolio, he has been asked take effective administrative and political measures to ensure that opposition party offices in private land could function freely.

The CPI-M also urged the CM to provide security escort to the opposition legislators and former Ministers during their visits outside Agartala for political activities.

He further added that the Chief Minister also assured them to take all possible steps over the issues.

"We shall wait for a month to watch what measures were taken in this regard,” he said.
