FRAUDSTERS LOOT TRIPURA SPEAKER’S MONEY BY FRAUDULANT MEANS

Guwahati, November 10, 2018:

The Speaker of Tripura assembly has lodged a complaint of bank fraud by fraudsters.

Speaker Rabati Mohan Das has alleged that a person called on his mobile introducing him as customer relationship manager of State Bank of India (SBI) and verified his account credentials. But since he was busy in a meeting,  he transferred the call to his son for replying further queries.

During the conversation, the caller somehow managed to get the ATM PIN of the speaker and his son. Within few minutes, the fraudsters withdrew Rs 61,000 from two accounts.

The incident has raised serious concerns over the security of money in bank accounts of customers. Fraudsters often call people identifying themselves as bank representative and ask for their bank account credentials.
