IPFT to contest both Tripura seats if BJP do not consider demand of ST seat: Shukla Charan Noatia

Tripura, March 15, 2019:

Indigenous People’s Front of Tripura (IPFT) youth leader Shukla Charan Noatia on Friday said that if the BJP does not consider the demand of the ST seat for the Lok Sabha elections, they will contest in both the seats ('Tripura East' and 'Tripura West').

Speaking to InsideNE, Shukla Charan Noatia said, “We had a meeting with BJP General Secretary Ram Madhav and he has offered that the ST seat in Tripura will be contested by both BJP and IPFT whereas, the other seat will be contested by only BJP to which we did not agree. So there will be a central level meeting of the IPFT where the decision will be taken. Even the BJP has not taken any decision yet.”

“If they consider our demand of one seat, i.e. the ST seat, then we will agree and if not, then we are going to contest for both the seats,” he added.
