Sacked Tripura Minister Turns Singer, Fuels Speculations With ‘Meri Jung’ Song

Sacked Tripura health minister Sudip Roy Barman on Sunday uploaded a facebook post that has fuelled speculations about his next political move.

Sudip was seen singing a number from Subhash Ghai movie ‘Meri Jung’.

Sudip was singing “Jindagi Har Kadam Ek Nayee Jung Hai, Jeet Jayenge Hum Tu Agar Sang Hay.” The video went viral on social media.

Netizens are busy speculating whether the former Tripura Minister has started his ‘Jung’ against CM Biplab Deb. Sudip was also known to be a strong opponent of CM Deb.

He was also a frontrunner for the post of CM when BJP dethroned Left from power in Tripura.

Sudip was axed from Tripura cabinet for alleged anti-party activities.

It is alleged that Barman had stayed away from campaigning for BJP in the recently concluded LS elections.

He even asked voters to vote for ‘eligible candidate’ that did not go down well with the BJP leadership.

It was also alleged that Sudip Roy Barman was helping Congress to gain ground in Tripura.

Meanwhile, Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb on Sunday said a leader should not forget the organisation, which selects him as a leader and bestows responsibility on him.

“It is a different issue that who satisfies whom but the public, party and the organization should be satisfied with one's activity,” Mr. Deb has said.

It may be mentioned that Sudip Roy Barman is the son of former Tripura Chief Minister Samir Ranjan Burman. He had quit Congress two years back and joined the BJP with six Congress legislators ahead of assembly elections held in February 2018.

He is the MLA of Agartala (West Tripura) constituency since 1998 and was a strong contender for the post of Chief Minister.
