Despite heavy restrictions and preventive measures put on place, the threat of community transmission looms large as some of the COVID 19 infected patients found to have no travel history. It can be presumed that they either came in close contact with some infected returnees or some sleeping carrier.
The apprehensions of Community transmission were getting more strengthen with three patients admitted in the biggest government run hospital of the state found to be Covid 19 infected. They had been admitted with complaints of stomach pain, kidney disease and brain related problems.
Hospital sources said, the building where the infected people were admitted has been sealed off. The process of isolating the close contacts of the patients has begun and the hospital authorities are taking the matter very seriously as the serious situations may prevail if rights steps are not taken at the earliest, the source added.

Meanwhile, some of the districts—Dhalai, Khowai, Gomati and South Tripura district have imposed certain individual restrictions in order deal with the prevailing situation as many people have been started to be infected in these areas who have returned recently.
All the districts have imposed section 144 CrPc in the stretch of 9 pm to 5 am in order to prevent unnecessary crowd formation in the localities with some relaxations to the people associated with emergency services like police, TSR and disaster management personnel. The Dhalai district which has been considered as the epicenter of Covid 19 spread in Tripura as both the BSF battalions where the maximum Covid 19 cases were reported fall under the district.
The Dhalai district administration, in its order strictly imposed the restrictions pertaining to the Covid 19 and asked people to abide by these. The district had also banned any religious gathering or programme within the jurisdiction of the district till June 07 next.
In the case of social programmes, all the districts had ordered that no social programmes such as marriage and performing the last rights could be organized without the permission of the administration, and if done adequate measures were needed to be taken such as social distancing and mandatory use of masks.
