In a major breakthrough in combating drug menace the Tripura police successfully recovered 365 kilogram of ganja from Atharmura on NH 44. Acting on a tip off, a large contingent of police personal headed by Tapash Dev from Teliamura Mohkuma, seized the large consignment of ganja.
The ganja was being brought from outside Tripura and was meant to be distributed across the state. The consignment included 20 packets of ganja.
The consignment was recovered from a car on the NH 44.
Speaking to reporters, the police said that, the smugglers knew about the operation and the miscreants fled the scene. No one have been arrested so far. Further investigations are on.
