Agartala, November 14, 2019:

Former Chief Minister of Tripura, Manik Sarkar, was not allowed to enter his Assembly Constituency Dhanpur, which falls under the Sepahijala District, on Thursday.

Sarkar, meanwhile, has alleged that the supporters of the ruling BJP have committed this conspiracy today morning.

Sarkar has said that on November 12, a CPM office was set to fire in Machhima area of Dhanpur. He also alleged that BJP supporters burnt the party office, and have been targeting CPI(M) establishments all over Tripura.

"On Thursday, CPIM MLAs led by me were going to Dhanpur and Machhima to see the burnt CPM office and talked with the peoples of that area. But in the road, we were restricted by the BJP supporters", he said.

It may be mentioned here that BJP supporters stopped the former CM and did not allow him to enter Dhanpur area. They also raised slogans against the leader and screamed, “Manik Sarkar go back”.

Manik Sarkar said that police officials were not present at the spot although before going to Dhanpur, they had informed the police and administration. He said, after standing in the street for some time, they returned to Sonamura.

Sarkar has responded in clear terms, that people of the state will not accept this again and again. Protests against the government were increasing, he added.

BJP leaders of Sonamura refused all the allegations and said that the erstwhile ruling CPI(M) has been rejected by the masses, which is the cause of the protests.
